Three Paths Through Language Models & Generative AI
From a focused nine-week course to a full year of mentored study — each programme is structured around your existing experience and the depth you want to reach.
How We Work
A Consistent Approach Across All Programmes
Every programme at Stardrift Labs pairs recorded material with live discussion, so participants can study at their own pace while staying connected to a cohort and a mentor. Notebooks, written milestones, and a final project of your own design keep the work grounded in practice rather than abstract theory.
Recorded Lectures
Weekly lectures are pre-recorded so you can watch when your schedule allows — pause, rewind, and revisit any section before the live session.
Live Cohort Sessions
Each week or month includes a scheduled cohort session — a space to ask questions, discuss practice notebooks, and hear how peers are approaching the same material.
Practice Notebooks
Hands-on Python notebooks accompany each week's material. You work through them at your own pace, and they feed directly into your milestones and final project.
Nine Weeks · Online
Working with Language Models
A nine-week online course on working effectively with publicly available language models. The course covers tokenization, prompt design, evaluation practices, and small applied projects. Each week combines a recorded lecture, a live discussion session, and a small practice notebook.
The course closes with a small project of your own design. A course completion record is provided to participants who submit the practice notebooks and the final project. Suitable for learners with basic Python familiarity.
- Tokenization and how language models process text
- Systematic prompt design and iteration practices
- Evaluation methods for model outputs
- Applied practice notebooks every week
- Final self-directed project with completion record
Twelve Weeks · Online · Intermediate
Generative AI Practitioner Track
A twelve-week intermediate track on generative AI engineering. The track works with open and publicly available models, covering fine-tuning approaches, evaluation practices, and architectural patterns for retrieval-augmented systems.
Weekly cohort sessions combine with self-paced practice and three written milestones. The final project is your own work, supported by mentor review throughout. Suitable for learners with prior exposure to model training or equivalent self-study.
- Working with open and publicly available generative models
- Fine-tuning approaches and evaluation methodology
- Retrieval-augmented system architecture patterns
- Three written milestones across the twelve weeks
- Mentor-reviewed final project of your own design
Twelve Months · Online · Professional
AI Engineering Year Programme
A twelve-month programme that pairs courses across the year with monthly cohort sessions and a final capstone project of your own design. Each participant is paired with a senior mentor for the full duration.
Suited for working professionals who want a structured year of study with sustained mentor support. The programme is educational; the final capstone is your own work, developed with ongoing guidance from your assigned mentor.
- Courses paired across the full twelve months
- Monthly live cohort sessions throughout the year
- Senior mentor assigned for the duration of the programme
- Final capstone project of your own design
- Structured pace suited to full-time working professionals

Across All Programmes
What Every Participant Can Expect
Regardless of which programme you join, the same standards apply to course material, communication, and the handling of your personal information.
Data Privacy
Personal data is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act. Details are in our privacy policy.
Public Materials Only
All models and datasets used in coursework are publicly available. No proprietary or restricted materials are used without appropriate rights.
Responsive Communication
Queries are responded to during business hours. Participants can reach the studio by email or phone at any point during their programme.
Your Work Is Your Own
All projects — from practice notebooks to final capstones — are the participant's own work. Stardrift Labs does not claim ownership over student-produced materials.
Realistic Pacing
Programmes are structured to suit working adults. Weekly time commitments are communicated clearly before enrolment so participants can plan accordingly.
Educational Focus
All programmes are general education in nature. They are not vocational training regulated by any Malaysian statutory body, and completion records reflect participation, not a regulated qualification.
